President

Experience, strategic, and accountability. These are three words that define Sabian Chiu as a leader. As the President, Sabian’s experience as a leader in and around the community will prove to be useful to the company. His role as the senior leader in the Army Cadet Program, where he is responsible for the success of over 100 cadets and the mentorship of 10 cadet instructors, has equipped him with the tools of effective leadership. His responsibilities as the Vice President of his school’s Student Council has also exposed him to many challenges and obstacles that he has learned to overcome, and his time spent volunteering with the Interact Club sponsored by Rotary as well as the Canadian Youth for Syria foundation has only contributed to his pool of experience. Furthermore, his job as a swim instructor has strengthened his leadership capabilities in mentorship and problem solving. Being his second year as the President of a Junior Achievement company, Sabian is confident that his unique skillset as a natural leader gained through years of experience and achievement will contribute remarkably to the well-being and success of the company.

VP of Marketing

A VP of Marketing must analyze the environment, target market and demand of the product, and advertise it accordingly, and while doing so must ensure that the company’s best foot is put forward. Kamalpreet Minhas has demonstrated a drive in her ability to outreach to other businesses and communicate the best interests of our team through her work over the summer at Richard Ivey and years of volunteering with several organizations citywide.  Moreover, being VP of Marketing in the Company program last year has provided her the ability to build off her experience, taking our company a step further. Our marketing team has thought outside the boxed. and began marketing in unique and creative manners.  Outgoing, interactive and ensuring that company image is reflected within each product, as well as mirrored on social media is our VP of Marketing’s goal.

VP of Production

A VP of Production must be organized, efficient, and innovative to achieve success. Osereme Omosun has demonstrated these characteristics in her extensive resume and knows how to always get the job done. As this is her third time in this position, Omosun knows some of the potential challenges that the company may face in the production process. However, this experience will allow her to use her problem solving skills effectively to analyze the issue and find the best course of action. This summer, with her mother, she started an Etsy business that sell scarves, garnering over 1,000 views and sales in the double digits. The success of this business is due to Osereme’s ability to find the best quality materials for the best price, research the production methods, and make changes to the product to meet the needs of the customer, all skills which are relevant skills to have as VP of Production. Her ability to work hard and well to create and processes that produce high quality products will be an asset to this company.

VP of Finance

Accountable, organized, timely. These are the aspects that separates normal VP of Finances from great ones and Jonah Feng encompasses all three characteristics and more. Constantly involved in various volunteer activities such as regularly being a youth counselor at a local church and committee member for his youth group, Jonah is also currently involved in the Model UN club and DECA Business club at Sir Winston Churchill as well as being the CFO and co-creator for a local startup company, Palm. These experiences coupled with past JA experience and hard work ethic results in great leadership and financial skills enabling Jonah to be an impressive VP of Finance and a great asset to the company.

VP of Human Resources

Ore is a grade 12 student at Westmount Charter School currently in his third year of Junior Achievement. He has performed in the executive role before, as both a President and Vice President of his past two Junior Achievement companies. Outside of the program, he is active in student leadership as a member of Westmount’s Student Council and is a senior member of the school’s Debate and Model UN clubs. Ore has also recently taken a more active role in volunteering and community work through both his church and the student-run Canadian Youth For Syria charity. These experiences have given him an extensive skillset with which to perform his role as VP of Human Resources.  Through this community leadership position, Ore plans to ensure that Boxed. is a company that thrives and is ultimately successful by the end of the program.

VP of Information Technology

Vrushti Jasani displays a great understanding of using technology as an advantage to the company as well as communicating with other members to ensure tasks are done efficiently. Her experience in working different programming softwares, online website builders and marketing through social media will enable her to successfully accomplish the technological goals of the company. She has displayed leadership within the company through her volunteering experience and leadership roles at the library, cadets, school and local organizations in Calgary. As a problem solver, communicative and innovative member of the company, she ensures that the company’s progress and online display will be intact. The IT department aims to achieve online presence to all demographics around the city by the establishment of our company website and through various social media as well as help provide other departments with tools they need to ensure success for the company.

VP of Health and Safety

A VP of Health and Safety is responsible for ensuring a company complies to workplace laws and  regulations, detect unsafe and unhealthy working conditions as well as promoting a healthy lifestyle outside of the workplace. With his ever growing experience working with heavy equipment and his highly active lifestyle, Tim Tomol is able to effectively fill the role of Boxed.’s VP of Health and Safety. Having worked in the turfcare department of his local golf course, Elbow Springs, Tim has acquired the skills necessary to identify and manage possible safety issues without compromising efficiency. He leads an increasingly active lifestyle through his active leadership role on Westmount Charter School’s wrestling and senior rugby teams. During offseasons, Tim accompanied by President Sabian Chiu, keeps himself healthy through a rigorous weight training program designed to keep both mind and body in peak condition to ensure optimal performance in whatever task is at hand. By using the skills he hones in both athletics and the workplace, Tim is able to put his best foot forward when it comes to representing the company's Health and Safety needs.
